Biographical Notes - IAN RICKUSS MP

Ian Rickuss MP - Member for LockyerIan Rickuss was elected to Parliament and Member for Lockyer in 2004.

Ian is a family man, a farmer and a businessman who specialised in intensive horticultural production and exporting produce to Singapore, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Philippines. Ian has been an active member of the Lockyer community for nearly 20 years and has been involved in various organisations, clubs and affiliations.

Some of these include Landcare, former chairman of the Potato Industry Council of Australia, City to Soil, Oxley Creek Catchment Association, Friends of South East Queensland, Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Association, Lockyer Antique and Motor Association, Greenbank and Laidley Show Societies, Amnesty International, and his local Church.

Ian has a keen interest in football and is an accredited coach in Rugby Union and Rugby League and is also an avid motorbike enthusiast.

He is dedicated to ensuring that Queensland is a more compassionate and caring society, not only for now but for future generations. Ian is committed to the future of the Lockyer Electorate by pursuing health, education, police, reliable water supply, rail, road and transport services, improved resources at Greenbank, Harrisville and Willowbank areas.

Ian believes that he has been bestowed a great honour by representing the people of the Lockyer Electorate and is determined to work towards achieving these goals.
